Electrical Outlet:  You will probably not need a recessed outlet when using a swivel mount but you will still need an outlet located directly behind the TV. Swivel mounts usually have enough clearance to allow for the length of the TV power plug without pushing the TV away from the wall. Wire Concealment:  Nobody wants to see wires, especially a power cord running down the wall to a power outlet.
