It is a download service. It is not a streaming service like Netflix, Amazon or Apple. You download a movie to the Kaleidescape Strato and you get a bit perfect copy. New titles are now available in 4K with HDR. Truly stunning content. You care because the better quality you “feed” your media room or home theater, the better it will perform. With streaming services, they are forced to use various levels of compression to enable them to send the large video files over the web. This compression leads to picture and audio degradation.

You download content from the Kaleidescape Movie Store. The store is growing all the time. It has agreements with most major studios. The store has over 11,000 movies and 2,000 TV shows. The store is the only place I know where you can get native 4K HDR content.
The store has a wonderful user interface making movie shopping fun.

Playback from hard drive delivers true 4K Ultra HD, with bit rates up to 100 Mbps and frame rates up to 60 fps.
